About
I am a writer, teacher, art historian and curator whose research objects are: Scottish visual culture since 1945; the ARTIST ROOMS Research Partnership 2011-16; art & science hybrid projects; political ecology in relation to culture.
I enjoy working closely with artists, with ongoing projects including on geology/volcanoes & body stones with Ilana Halperin; directing ARTIST ROOMS research partnership; a sports science exhibition called Human Race; a book/exhibition on Scottish art called Endarkenment; a speculative project on art, ethics and torture called The Infallible Cry, etc.
I work with a number of PhD students, ranging from artists undertaking creative arts enquiry to research into Scottish art history.
