About
Based on a practice-led research model, which includes the mapping of the background to the artwork I have produced, this research introduces "blankness" and explores the debate around this prominent, new and distinct style of contemporary photographic portraiture which has emerged of late. Blankness is described as a blank surface upon which competing projections take place by both photographer and spectator.
Viewed as a body of work it is hope that the three series of large format photographic portraits I have created, build upon each other to form a cumulative investigation into what I have come to regard as the illusion of blankness.
